In August 2022, Serin was approached by Thornham Management to provide support in the completion of the Ibis/Adagio apartment hotel located on the C-Ring road, Doha Qatar.

Due to the imposed restrictions brought on by the pandemic, the construction of the hotel was disrupted in early 2020. Between then and mid-2022, the building remained unoccupied and unmanned, with basic systems such as the air conditioning and power inoperational. This led to the deterioration of some of the finishes and damage to some of the equipment due to the lack of preventive maintenance.

In order to meet the Client’s requirement to inaugurate the property ahead of the FIFA World Cup in November 2022 and following the demobilisation of the majority of the Contractor and Consultant’s teams, Serin provided a remaining works list and defective items, then worked alongside the newly introduced Contractors and Suppliers to complete the works in line with Accor’s brand standards and statutory requirements.

During these four months, Serin’s team successfully completed all the necessary permits (including Kahramaa, QCDD, MOI, QTA and Woqood), commissioned the entirety of the systems and fixed any remaining snags in time for the target opening.

The property now comprises 306 guest rooms and apartments spread over three six-storey wings, plus a business centre, swimming pool, gym and other facilities.
