In 2018, Zutari chose Serin to provide Cost Management advice for the construction of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Lusail Stadium in Doha.
Zutari was appointed by joint venture contractors HBK Contracting and China Railway as their designer in this fixed-price, lump-sum D&B appointment for Qatar’s most iconic stadium. On the strength of its regional knowledge, Serin was asked to assemble a hand-picked team to provide a complete RIBA Stage 4 Technical Design pre-tender estimate, measured in accordance with the RICS New Rules of Measurement and IPMS.
Once completed, Lusail Stadium hosted multiple matches in the FIFA 2022 World Cup, including the Final and opening game. With its golden bowl structure and lantern-shaped ‘fanar’ apertures, the stadium is a celebration of the Middle East’s ancient tradition of craftsmanship.
